Coconut oil: healthy and versatile

<p>Coconut oil is a very healthy and versatile product. You can use it to cook, as a substitute for olive oil, but you can also use it as a hair care and skin care product. Use the oil as make-up remover or as a hair mask. Coconut oil is also great on bread or in pastries. Its versatility has made coconut oil a very popular product. Machandel coconut oil is of course organic and comes in jars in various quantities.</p> <h2>Machandel Coconut Oil</h2> <p>Our organic coconut oil is one of Machandel&rsquo;s biggest products. The oil is made from coconuts from Sri Lanka. The coconuts are organically grown and cracked here. Then the flesh is taken out and processed to make coconut chips. The oil comes from the flesh of the coconut. These chips are cold-pressed to extract the oil. Cold pressing is required to retain the pure flavours of coconut oil. Furthermore, the oil is not refined or deodorised, retaining its original properties.</p> <h2>Visiting Sri Lanka</h2> <p>Because coconut oil is a major product at Machandel, we go to visit Sri Lanka every year. There, we inspect the harvest and coconut processing. We discuss price-quality ratios with the grower. And the supplier&rsquo;s factory work methods are important to us as well. What are the working conditions like? What kind of fertiliser is used? These issues play an important role in ensuring that the entire work method fits into Machandel&rsquo;s view so we can continue to work with our growers and supplier.</p>
