People with kidney disease, heart disease or high blood pressure benefit from a low-sodium diet. Machandel always only adds a minimum amount of sea salt to its biodynamic products. The low amount of salt we add is necessary to preserve our products. In our lab, we nevertheless look for alternatives to sea salt, which has led us to add tamari to some products as a substitute for salt. Tamari is a natural type of gluten-free soy sauce that enriches flavour without the harmful effects of salt. Several Machandel products contain no salt at all, like our organic peanut butter and nut pastes.
